The museum of M.V. Prezhevalsky is situated not far from the Karakol town. The museum is devoted to the great explore of Central Asia - Nicolay Mikhailovich Prezhevalsky. He was one of the world's greatest explores and his biggest achievements were the crossing of the great desert Taklamakan and the discovery of more than 4000 animals, including the Horse of Prejevalsky.
M.V. Prezhevalsky died in Karakol town because of a fatal disease. And his last wish was to be buried on the Shore of Issyk Kul Lake. He said that it was the most beautiful place that he had seen in his life.
The museum consists of 3 parts. The first one is the museum itself with pictures of his life, big map of his travels, things that belonged to him and also there are stuff animals. One o
