Son Kul Lake
Son Kul Lake is the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. It is situated high in the Tien Shan Mountains on the altitude of 3016 meters above sea level. There are many yurts of shepherds who come there with their cattle on summer. This place is completely out of civilization. You can sleeps in yurts as nomads have been doing for hundreds years. Also it is possible to have horse riding along the shore of this amazing lake. People say that one day Ormon Khan strictly punished the whole local tribe who did not show him this nomadic paradise!
There are many ancient stone paintings from 800 B.C. that are possible to visit. Also it is possible to have a horse riding along the lake for some hours. Local people will be glad to give you a horse for a little price. Usually it is about 150 soms per hour.
The lake is surrounded by mountains from all sights and you can sit and enjoy the beauty for many hours...
